Competition, rigour and exams versus the fragmented multi success record of the NCEA.

One story believes in extending the so called 'top academic students' ( intelligent conformists?) and 'crums' for the rest - the other pushing a confused but improved system of 'bits' of learning.

Both sides talking past each other and both ignoring the fact that they are both versions of outdated traditional teaching.

What is required is a new system that requires all students to tap into their talents and reach for their own personal level of excellence by completing real integrated tasks. These tasks could incude exams, if necessary, and units from the NCEA - but they must be real and challenging.Bruce Hammondshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07031065790535111400noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8438349.post-43058985754726609212007-03-21T23:12:00.000+12:002007-03-21T23:12:00.000+12:00For too long we have been 'led' by sensible ration...For too long we have been 'led' by sensible rational people - time for a new story - one to build on the creativity of our past story tellers?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
