They are certainly not 'learning organisations' which is ironic!.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8438349.post-46140294712642457742011-03-18T01:36:46.257+13:002011-03-18T01:36:46.257+13:00Great to see you are back Tony. And you are right...Great to see you are back Tony. And you are right ,education is about helping individuals 'see' (to develop a future orientation ) not 'my way or the highway' no matter how sugar coated. We need more 'walk the talk' leaders giving 'permission' to others to act couragously.Bruce Hammondshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07031065790535111400noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8438349.post-69575319243455249122011-03-10T18:19:57.165+13:002011-03-10T18:19:57.165+13:00Yes, Fullan's ideas have more than a grain of ...Yes, Fullan's ideas have more than a grain of truth in them - the issue seems to be that every school/college has two missions; the one it talks about and the one it lives. Also, most institutions often rewrite their missions without getting to know the type of culture that drives them - and or looking at where that culture has brought them.

T..

P.S: Bruce - I am back on with you again ;-)Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07669642887380981003noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8438349.post-50219029131968894022011-03-10T00:45:24.235+13:002011-03-10T00:45:24.235+13:00I like the comment in Tony's blog about a need...I like the comment in Tony's blog about a need for 'a new vision of next practice'. Schools are stuck in a conservative vision which protects them from change - 'visions that blind', as Michael Fullan once said. I guess there are few 'walk the talk' future visionaries in our schools - most prefer to 'go along to get along' or, worse still, see no need to do anything except tinker about with their current practice.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
